Trail Description Miles of desert trails. Beautiful in winter/spring. Known for desert flowers in spring
Best Time to Visit Winter/Spring
Times to Avoid Summer!
Campground Long row of camp sites big enough for big rigs. The best manure disposal I have seen! The camp restrooms and showers are ADA approved (Quarters are needed for the showers). There is an ADA campsite, with wheelchair ramp to assist with mounting and dismounting (Yes, it has been used by those with a disability, including those in wheelchairs who ride horses). Dogs are welcome. However, they need to be on a leash and are welcome in the campground and the road leading into the camp. Please clean up after them. Dogs are not allowed on any trail. Fee includes a campsite with grill, fire ring, picnic table, and also includes a tow vehicle and trailer, two people and two horses. Additional vehicles/horses/people fees will be collected by host. Reserve America lists 9 sites. When these 9 sites are reserved they show full or reserved. There is a group site with wind ramada and group fire ring with grills and tables. There is a lunge area as well and wash rack for your horse. If a camper is 63 or older the camp fee is reduced from $20 to $18. With an ADA California parks permit, the ADA site is $10 per night. ADA California permits can be obtained at the Anza Borrego Visitors Center 7 days a week or just about any California state park. The water is potable and treated by trained park personnel and checked daily. Interpretive talks are often given in the wind ramada on Saturday nights, if interest is shown. Ask Dick the host one day ahead of time, he is very helpful and a great speaker. The Campground is closed from 1 June to 30 September due to heat.
